SMZ161 Series

Motic’s new SMZ161 Stereo Zoom microscope joins the widespread success of the SMZ Stereo family by introducing light materials as well as a new, improved LED illumination options. Convincing optical performance, combined with a small footprint and robust mechanics, makes the SMZ161 the ideal stereo microscope for teaching situations in High Schools and Universities.

The Greenough optical system delivers clear and distortion-free images with an improved zoom range of 6:1. Parfocality is ensured while running through the complete magnification range; while a click-stop mechanism, implemented in the continuous zoom, enables precise reproduction of magnifications. The extended 110mm working distance in its standard configuration gives sufficient space for sample manipulation, using its convincing 3-dimensional upright image.

SMZ168 Series

Versatile Stereo Microscope Solution

The SMZ168 Stereo Zoom microscope represents the top-of-the-line model in Motic’s successful SMZ Series of stereo microscopes. Designed for a wide range of biological and material science applications, the SMZ168’s optical quality and versatile accessories will satisfy the most demanding user applications in both routine and research fields. From industrial quality control to biological preparation work, the SMZ168 is a durable workhorse model ready for a variety of applications.

Its Greenough optical system comes with a large zoom range of 6.7:1, parfocal at all magnifications. Its 5-position click-stop magnification mechanism, implemented into the continuous zoom, enables precise reproduction of magnifications, thus simplifying measurements.

An impressive 3-dimensional upright image, combined with an industry leading working distance of 113mm in its standard configuration, allows easy manipulation of the sample. Further, the SMZ168 can convert easily into a complete documentation station by combining it with a member of the Moticam camera series.

GM Series

The Motic GM Series is specially designed for preparation and inspection work in Gemology. It is used for surface finish inspection of gems, identification of imperfections and evaluation of purity.  With a zoom ratio of 6.7:1 and a standard total magnification of 7.5X to 50X, the GM Series allows you to switch from a sample overview down to viewing micro details.

The GM Series is equipped with bright field and dark field transmitted illumination. Dark field illumination is ideal for the observation of inclusions inside of gems, while the incident Fluorescent illuminator can be used for the examination of the clarity, colour and finishing. The incident illuminator is mounted on a flexible gooseneck in order to adjust and reposition the angle of illumination.

A comfortable viewing position can be obtained by tilting the optical body of the GM Series in a range of 0°-45°, and the entire unit is rotatable 360° to easily share the microscope with others. Documentation purposes can be easily fulfilled by using a digital camera on top a of Trinocular version. For available Moticam cameras please visit our Digital Microscopy section.
